Radon testing rules that affect everyoneRadon testing (hired) must be performed by
someone certified to do so by the Florida Department of Health. FL DOH has been quite clear about certain rules pertaining
to radon tests and reports for many years. - A FL DOH certified measurement
cannot say he is "doing" a radon test, he must say he is "performing" a radon test.

A FL DOH certified radon measurement technician cannot interpret a radon report, only a FL DOH certified radon measurement
specialist can interpret results.
- Radon test results / report must come from a FL
DOH certified radon measurement business.
- FL DOH certified
radon measurement technicians have to work under a FL DOH certified measurement specialist and both under a FL DOH certified
radon measurement business.

a copy of permit for radon mitigation system.
FL DOH: Certified businesses are required to report their activities.
A mitigation contractor must provide: 1) mitigation system labels, (name of company installing
system)
2) a
visual or audible device to automatically indicate system failure,
3) soil gas exhaust vents above the eave of the
roof for active soil depressurization systems, and
4) written instructions on the operation and maintenance of
the system. The department recommends you
review these requirements with the mitigation contractor before entering into a contract. If you have any questions about
